Between
Eric and Debby, there are 8 marriages, no long term friends*, no roots of
any sort, and none of their children in communication with them. They do not believe in counseling or for
asking others to pray for them, and without authority figures who know them well, these elements combined
make for little hope or accountability for change.
*They are very good at hand-picking a few 'favourite' people to give money and material items to,
and go to lunch with regularly, so that they can say they have ‘close friends’
but these people do not know the true situation, and are often manipulated by the
gifts and ‘generosity’. Behind closed doors, these people are often discussed and criticized, and personal information is not kept private, even in a 'counseling' scenario.
